We offer 40-minute initial appointments to allow adequate time to understand your child’s history, current challenges, previous assessments, and support needs without feeling rushed.
Dr Akkera regularly communicates with GPs, schools, allied health providers, specialists, and NDIS stakeholders by reviewing reports, providing recommendations, and making referrals when appropriate.
We support children throughout different stages of development, seeing patients from birth to 16 years of age, and up to 18 years in select cases. This allows families to receive consistent specialist care over several years when needed.

No. A GP referral is not required to book an appointment at Medivik. However, you will need a valid GP referral if you wish to claim Medicare rebates for your paediatric consultation. GP referrals to a paediatrician are typically valid for 12 months from the date they are issued, so it’s important to check that your referral is still current before your appointment. If it has expired, you’ll need to obtain a new referral from your GP to continue receiving Medicare benefits.
